Patrick Range McDonald, an award-winning American author and investigative journalist, has won, among other honors, the Los Angeles Press Club "Journalist of the Year", the prestigious "Public Service" award from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia,〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=AltWeekly Awards ) 〕 and the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism.〔(【引用サイトリンク】publisher=Dallas Observer )〕 He worked as a staff writer for the LA Weekly for six years (2007-2013), and following the success of his New York Times Best-Seller, "The Mayor," has chosen to become a full-time author. McDonald co-wrote "The Mayor: How I Turned Around Los Angeles after Riots, an Earthquake, and the OJ Simpson Murder Trial" with the former Los Angeles Mayor, Richard Riordan. McDonald holds a B.A. in history from Fordham University and an M.A. from New York University in journalism. He is currently writing a book about a major AIDS organization and pursuing other projects in TV, film, and magazine publishing. McDonald also regularly blogs for the LA Weekly and writes a column about gay issues called "Queer Town." ==References==
